Scored exams & assessments
Build quizzes with point values, automatic scoring, and feedback per answer.
Any Questionful form can be turned into a graded one by giving its questions point values and marking the correct answers.
Setting up scoring
- Turn on Make this a quiz in the form’s settings.
- Open a choice question in the editor and mark which answer or answers are correct.
- Set the points the question is worth.
Repeat for every question you want to count. Questions with no points configured are collected but not scored, which is how you mix a graded section with an ungraded one (name, cohort, feedback) in the same form.
Automatic marking
When a respondent submits, Questionful adds up the points earned against the points available and shows the result. Nothing is marked by hand and nothing needs a spreadsheet.
Point values can be shown to the candidate alongside each question, or kept hidden.
When the mark is released
A quiz form has a Release mark setting:
- Immediately after each submission: the candidate sees their score as soon as they submit.
- Later, after manual review: the score is withheld until you release it yourself.
When the mark is released immediately, three further switches control what the candidate is shown: missed questions, correct answers, and point values. Turn all three off and they see only the score. They have no effect while the mark is withheld for review.
Feedback per answer
Each question can carry two separate pieces of feedback, one for a correct answer, one for an incorrect one. Each can contain:
- A written explanation.
- One or more links, for example back to the relevant lesson.
- An embedded video.
This is what turns a quiz into a teaching tool: the candidate finds out not just that they were wrong but why, at the moment it matters.
Running an exam
- Use sections to structure a multi-part paper, and shuffle question order if candidates sitting side by side is a concern.
- Set the renderer to slideshow to put one question on screen at a time.
- Every public form is already behind a bot challenge, so the link can be shared without further setup.
- Let candidates email themselves a copy of their answers after submitting.
- Disable the form when the window closes; anyone opening the link then sees your own message.
- Export the whole set to CSV when you are done.
