Questionful for Android and iOS
This page covers the Questionful mobile app, version 1.0.0. For anything about the web app or your account in general, our documentation and contact form are the better starting points.
What the app is
The app is a full-screen client for your Questionful account. You sign in with the same email and password you use at https://my.questionful.org, and you see the same forms, responses and analytics. There is no separate mobile account and nothing to sync.
It is built for you, the form owner. People filling in your forms never need it: a Questionful form opens in any mobile browser, so share a link as usual.
What the app adds over a browser: no browser chrome, a session that survives closing the app, and optional biometric unlock (Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint) before that saved session is handed back to you.
Requirements
- Android 7.0 (Nougat) or newer.
- iOS 13.0 or newer.
- An internet connection. The app has no offline mode.
- For biometric unlock: a device with Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint sensor, with at least one biometric already enrolled. Everything else works without it.
Getting started
- Install the app on your phone or tablet. On Android, get it from Google Play. The iOS build is not on the App Store yet.
- Sign in with your existing Questionful email and password.
- Accept the prompt to enable biometric unlock if you want it. It appears once, after your first successful sign-in; you can switch it on or off later from the app menu.
No account yet? Create one free at https://my.questionful.org. The sign-up flow needs email confirmation, which is easiest in a browser.
The app menu
Tap the menu in the app to reach these:
- Refresh Questionful, Reloads the current page, the first thing to try if something looks stale.
- Server, Shows which Questionful host the app is pointed at. It is read-only, fixed when the app is built.
- Biometric unlock, Turns Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint protection on or off for the saved session.
- Remove saved login, Clears the credentials kept for biometric sign-in. Only appears once a login has been saved.
- Go to Questionful home, Jumps back to your dashboard if you have navigated somewhere unexpected.
- Lock now, Locks the app immediately. Available when biometric unlock is on.
- Reset web session, Clears cookies and site storage and returns you to the login page, the strongest reset short of reinstalling.
Common problems
The unlock screen will not let me in
Use the unlock button again. After a failed biometric read the app also accepts your device passcode or PIN, so a re-enrolled fingerprint or a biometric lockout does not shut you out. If it still refuses, open the menu, choose Remove saved login, and sign in with your email and password.
The app opens to a blank or error screen
That is the app failing to reach the server, almost always the connection: check that the device is online, then use Refresh Questionful. If your network filters traffic, a corporate Wi-Fi or a VPN, try mobile data to rule it out.
I keep getting signed out, or a page is stuck
Open the menu and choose Reset web session. It clears cookies and site storage and returns you to the login page. Nothing on your account is affected; only the local session goes.
Biometric unlock never asks me anything
The offer appears once, and only after a real sign-in. If you dismissed it, turn Biometric unlock on in the menu. If the switch does nothing, the device has no enrolled biometric yet. Add one in the system settings first.
I forgot my password
Use the “Forgot password” link on the app's login screen, or reset it at https://my.questionful.org. The app has no separate password.
My account uses two-factor authentication
Sign-in works the same as on the web: Questionful emails you a six-digit code, valid for ten minutes, which you type into the app. There is no authenticator-app pairing to set up.
What the app stores, and what it asks for
Your session lives in your device's secure storage, Keychain on iOS, Keystore-backed storage on Android. Login credentials are written there only if you enable biometric unlock; with the feature off, nothing is saved and you sign in each time.
The app declares two permissions and no others:
- Internet access, to load your Questionful account.
- Biometrics, to unlock the saved session.
It does not request the camera, microphone, location, contacts or storage, and it contains no advertising or third-party tracking. Form responses stay on the Questionful backend; the app displays them rather than keeping its own copy.
Details on how we handle data are in the Privacy Policy, and Data Deletion explains how to remove your account and its data. Deleting the app removes the local session and any saved credentials from the device, but does not delete your account. Use the account page or a deletion request for that.
Reporting a problem
Email support@questionful.org. To get a useful answer on the first reply, include:
- Device model and OS version (for example “Pixel 7, Android 15”).
- The app version: 1.0.0 unless an update says otherwise.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.
We answer support email within two business days, and usually sooner. Questionful is in early alpha, so bug reports genuinely shape what gets fixed next.
