It is the closest thing to a paper trail that does not involve anyone remembering to export something. Connect the Google account once and the connection is available to every form on the account.

Setup

Connecting it takes a minute.

  1. 01 Open the form's integrations and choose Google Drive.
  2. 02 Click Connect and sign in with the Google account that owns the Drive.
  3. 03 Grant Questionful access when Google asks.
  4. 04 Pick the destination folder.
  5. 05 Save. The next response is filed there.
What you get

On every submission.

  • One PDF per response, laid out as questions and answers
  • Signed links to any uploaded files, rather than the files embedded
  • A connection made once per account and reusable across your forms
  • Filing that happens on submission, with no export step
  • Available on every plan, including free
What to know

Worth reading before you build on it.

  • It writes PDFs, not spreadsheet rows. There is no Google Sheets integration yet
  • Deleting the destination folder in Drive does not stop the integration; reconnect and pick a new folder
  • If the Google token is revoked or the account password changes, the connection needs reconnecting
  • Files inside the PDF are links, not attachments, and those links expire
FAQ

Google Drive: common questions.

Can I send form responses to Google Drive?

Yes. Each response is rendered as a PDF and saved to a Drive folder you choose, automatically, as it is submitted.

Can I send responses to Google Sheets instead?

Not natively yet. Google Sheets is on the roadmap. In the meantime the Zapier or Make card can write each response to a sheet.

Do I need to connect Google for every form?

No. The connection belongs to your account, so once it is authorised it is available to your other forms.

Are uploaded files stored in Drive too?

No. The PDF carries signed links to the uploads rather than the files themselves, so download anything you need to keep before the link expires.
